That Al Gore is a lying hypocrite is beyond debate.  This was brought home once again when Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma asked Gore to sign onto the pledge below during Senate hearings on global warming:

“As a believer that human-caused global warming is a moral, ethical, and spiritual issue facing our survival; that home energy use is a key component of overall energy use; that reducing my fossil fuel-based home energy usage will lead to lower greenhouse gas emissions; and that leaders on moral issues should lead by example; I pledge to consume no more energy for use in my residence than the average American household by March 21, 2008.”

Gore refused to sign.

One would think that if Gore really believed the dire predictions he has been making about the end of mankind, New York City under 20 feet of water, drowning polar bears, etc., that he would be the first on his block to lead by example.  In fact, Gore lives in a huge, 28,000 square foot mansion that gobbles up 20 times more energy than the average home in his state.  This is a typical case of “do as I say, not as I do”.

Presidential candidate John Edwards may actually out-do Gore as he works on completion of his new mega-mansion that will make Gore’s look outdated and dumpy by comparison.  It will include John’s own private air-conditioned indoor basketball court and squash court, and will be the largest, most expensive home ever built in Orange County, NC.  Click here to see the story on it. Apparently chasing ambulances, suing doctors and lying to gullible juries about being able to “channel dead babies” (he actually did that!) is a pretty profitable business and one of the main reasons medical costs have shot through the roof.  But I digress.

Al Gore’s Hollywood ‘glamoratzi’ supporters are no better than he is.  Most of them have huge, sprawling, carbon dioxide-belching mansions not just in Hollywood and Malibu, but scattered all around the nation and the world, all using substantial amounts of energy even when the stars aren’t gracing them with their presence.  They buy hybrid cars for show, but then ride around in 10-mpg limousines and jet-set around the world in their private jets that use more fuel and blast out more CO2 during a five-minute take-off than most American families use in a month.  And they want us to cut back on our energy use?

If there really is such a thing as man-made global warming, it must be a result of all the hot air coming out of Al Gore’s mouth.  And we can tell what an expert on the subject he is by the ‘D’ grade transcripts uncovered by the Washington Post show he received on a natural sciences class in college.  Science has already proven him wrong, but the most damning evidence is Gore’s own lavish, energy-wasting lifestyle.  If he won’t sign on to the pledge, why should we sign on to the Kyoto Treaty or make any changes in our lifestyles?
